Some folks prefer the old Boards of Canada, some prefer the newer stuff; me, I'll always cherish their 2000 EP, Boards of Canada - In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country, a flawless little four-song record whose eponymous track makes it absolutely outstanding.

I was just listening to Coldplay's big fat hit from yesteryear "Yellow" and realized it was ripe for rewriting as a song making fun of emo kids, since the words "yellow" and "emo" rhyme nicely, and it's got that soft, moody, lilting sound that might sound just like emo crap were its melody punked up [...]
