I don’t care for days where the rules change, and everyone behaves differently. I don’t care for holidays. And I hate Halloween. I always hated the costumes and the begging for candy, and I still dislike everything about it to this day.
So, like I often do, I’m spending the evening alone holed up in my house, with the porch light of to indicate to trick-or-treaters that they should skip this house. The past few years, I went to parties with friends, but never bothered to come up with a costume. I also hate theme parties.
I think I’m close to closing one book and opening another.

Today, I got a day off from work.
I got my first payroll check, I had lunch with a friend, and I ordered a bike. All in all, I think I used my day off pretty well. And the sunset was nice…even while seen blurred out.

This is the stuff I’ve got on my desk.
Tomorrow, we get a day off from work, and while it will be nice to have a long weekend… well, I’d almost rather be at work. I’m not going to go to any Halloween parties this weekend, I don’t care for hanging out in general. The only thing I’ve got to do outside of the workplace is work on getting my house cleaned up and looking good enough so that I can start trying to rent it out.
That’s what I plan on using the now-long weekend for. Then, I’ll get back to my desk on Monday, and see the stuff on my desk. And get more work done.

Thought I’ve been shooting some vague, blurry, foggy shots lately, they aren’t necessarily representative of how I feel this time around. It’s been a good week. Although, I’ve eaten so much fast-food since starting this 9-to-5 gig that I realized today that I’m over eating out. Period.
The thought of anything I didn’t make myself has started making me feel nauseated, and starting tomorrow, I’m going to pick up stuff from Publix and make my own lunch. I never used to eat out more than a couple times a month, and all this unhealthy stuff has been a shock to my system.
Now, I can add eating out to my list of things I care to do more than rarely.

Even though it’s not much cooler (this is Florida) everything has an autumn vibe to me. Everyone from Starbucks to 7-Eleven has pumpkin-flavored everything, and I like that. At least it was overcast today, which gave the illusion of sub-90 degree weather.
It even rained this evening, the effects of which are seen in the photo above.

This isn’t the nicest photo I’ve posted for Project 365, but it’s literally a snapshot. I couldn’t spend a lot of time framing, and had to shoot this sweet battle-worn 911 Turbo. When you can take a car like that to the track and smash it up, you’re definitely loaded… and a race enthusiast.
I got to do something completely new and interesting today. My employer was doing a video shoot for something, and I got to see what a real video production was like. They used all Canon 7D DSLRs to film with so that they could get around without the bulk of broadcast quality cameras, and I got to see first-hand how DSLRs are pretty much kicking ass for video as well as photos. And I started to sway back toward Canon (my frist SLR was a Canon) for my next camera purchase.

It was actually really bright out, so it didn’t look anything like this shot. A high film speed and a low aperture led to this kind of interesting shot.
The stress level is down at work now that the big project is done, and that means I’ll be able to have the first work-free, relaxing, enjoyable weekend I’ve had since the project began. I might do a few things and get some errands out of the way, or I might do nothing at all. I’m just glad to have the option either way.

When she saw that you could inscribe three lines of text on the custom Zune HD, my friend Louise suggested this haiku (seen above):
Robots don’t wash clothes
Because they don’t wear any
Robots are naked
I had to space out the bottom because when I typed the word "naked" I got a cheeky error message suggesting that I was being naughty or something to that extent. Then I wrote the bottom line in all-caps for the heck of it.
I’ve had a Zune HD since launch, but it was incorrectly inscribed, so they shipped me this correct model, and now I’m sending the other one back. The subscription makes it easy for me to listen to fresh tunes all day every day at work, and that keeps me productive. If I were freelancing, I’d try and write it off as a business expense.

I’m coming down with something, but when I get sick, it rarely lasts more than a day or so. With all the long hours at work and the lack of sleep lately, I’m surprised I lasted this long without getting a little sick. Tomorrow, I’ll probably be back to normal, anyway.

This is, I guess, a hand-made sort of double exposure, or something like that. Both shots were taken of the same area, but at different angles. That’s my car, parked outside my work. It’s nice to get to work after the sun has risen for a change!
Today was wonderfully non-hectic, even though I moved through bits of three different projects during the day. The next interesting one is getting rolling, and the best phase is beginning: the research/moodboard/planning/etc. phase. Excellent.
