Day Two Seventy Nine | Many Hours

I’ve got a day off from the constant work, then I’m back for a half day tomorrow. Half, as in six hours of twelve. As I figured, I didn’t get anything done, aside from rest, enjoying the change in weather, and some freelance work for an old job that never seems to be quite finished.
I’ve rested, and I’m still tired. I really want to get back to some semblance of a normal workweek very soon so that I don’t have to waste my weekends doing nothing as a result of doing so much all week.

Day Two Seventy Eight | Nearing the End

The week may be over, but the work goes on. I’ll be getting a slight reprieve from work tomorrow, during which I’m almost certain I won’t get anything done on account of being exhausted, then Sunday I’m back to work again, and Monday is the so-called light at the end of the tunnel. Monday, the project gets handed over, and we can start moving on to the next big task.
I was hoping to have had my house rented out and myself moved out by December 1st, but that was before two solid weeks of dusk-til-dawn work hours. That means I’m two weeks behind in my schedule. I’ve still got to clean up, clear out the garage and fill it with packed boxes, get some repairs done, finish painting, and have the house professionally cleaned. And that’s just so that I can turn it over to an agency who can then start showing the place. From there, I’m thinking a month, maybe two, before it gets rented.
It all adds up to a very hectic end-of-the-year. And a very different beginning-of-the-year in 2010.

Day Two Seventy Six | Static

By the time I was ready to go to sleep last night, all I could hear was static, for all I had left in my brain was static. I’m a little less burned out today.
I’ll have at least another two twelve-hour days, and I’m working my ass off in an effort to get this project finished before the weekend. I like having life on pause while I work all day every day, but there are things I really need to do.

Day Two Seventy Five | One Long Day

I’ve noticed a possible pattern in my photography for Project 365: a photo’s sharpness and brightness tends to reflect the mood, good or bad, I’m in. And I’ve been taking some vague, washed-out, blurry shots lately, and I feel the way these photos appear.
Landing the job was just the beginning, and since I haven’t had that to worry about, I’ve been somewhat spinning in space, second-guessing my goals and my plans, and falling into the same patterns I usually fall into, just with a few tweaks here and there.
And I’ve been working a lot, as much as possible, so I almost don’t know what day it is anymore. I’ve just been living one long day for days, maybe weeks. I don’t know where I’m going to be when that day ends, and I have to take the rest of my life off of pause.

Day Two Seventy Three | Foregone Day

I left my camera behind for the first time in… well, the first time since I started Project 365, I guess. So, when I saw a nice sunset, I had only the camera on my phone handy.
I would have gone to Halloween Horror Nights with my Miami friends today, but had to put in an extra day of work instead. On the positive side, that means I saved at least $100. On the negative side, today wasn’t much of a day.

Day Two Sixty Seven | Breeze

Tonight, I’ve been in and out of sleep; I guess I’m catching up on more sleep deficit from the past two weeks of sleeping some four or five hours a day. I crashed in the early evening, and woke up sporadically through the night. I guess by the morning, I should be wide awake again.
Now that things at work are settling down and getting back to normal, it’s become pretty relaxed. Working 8am – 5pm feels like a breeze compared to the 7am – 9pm days I’d been working lately.

Day Two Sixty Four | Yellow Canvas

Yes, this is a photograph. From time to time, I like to take shots so abstract that almost all texture is absent, and it’s left an almost completely solid color—as seen in this set.
This shot pretty much represents what I feel like right now, too. The toughest bits of this project at work are about over, and things are starting to shift from 12+ hour days back to regular 8-hour days, and I’m starting to shift back down out of overdrive. All the energy I’ve put into this work has left me almost completely blank. Something like this shot is basically what I see in my head right now.
And I’m going to get to rest, and then I can start filling this yellow-ish canvas in my head with new and wonderful things all over again.

Day Two Hundred Sixty Two | Peace of Mind

This didn’t come out right, but I’ve actually got too much good stuff going on right now to give a shit. I’ll just keep that black bar on this photo; the only thing missing is some road, and who cares about that?
See, I got important news. I’m an employee again, not just a contractor anymore. No contract work, no freelance work, none of that mess. Just a steady check every two weeks, and a lot of peace of mind.

Day Two Hundred Sixty One | Functional

Sometimes during this Project 365, I have uploaded stuff a day late. I usually have an alright excuse; this time, it was because I realized not long before midnight that my camera’s battery was dead, which means I couldn’t upload, as I don’t have card reader.
Anyway, this shot was taken at the beginning of one of my many recent extra long work days. I got in at six in the morning, and didn’t get out until around eight at night. I’ve been racking up almost 40 hours every three days lately. And somehow, I’m still functional!

Day Two Fifty Nine | Working on Sunday

I came in to work today to put about a full shift. Normally, Sundays have been underwhelming, serving to remind me that another weekend has gone by that I basically slept in and sat around playing video games. This time, I was making money instead.
I’d work all day every day if I were able. This was shot around downtown Orlando while I drove around making time for someone I was meeting (but didn’t) in the area. At least I got a pretty decent sunset shot out of it!
